Viola Mae (nee Marks) Traviss of Seaforth, formerly of Walton, passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015. She was in her 92nd year.
Viola was the beloved wife of the late Ralph Traviss and the loving mom of Linda Gingerich, London. She was the cherished grandma of Andrea Gingerich (Jason Lee) of Prince George, British Columbia; Lisa Gingerich (Denis Potvin), London; the late Nicole Gingerich and great-grandma of Jocelyne and Aubree Gingerich-Potvin. Viola was the dear sister of Lawrence ‘Jake’ Marks, Exeter.
Viola is also survived by her nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Russell and Josephine (nee Mann) Marks, brother Nelson ‘Dick’ Marks (Maxine), sister-in-law Dorothy Marks, niece Cheryl Marks, and siblings-in-law Herb (Mildred), Harvey (Olive), Ken (Gertie), Hessie (Norman) and Leon.
Visitation was held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, Seaforth on Tuesday, Jan. 20 until the time of the funeral service. Pastor Stephen Hildebrand officiated. A reception followed at Egmondville United Church. Interment will take place at Brussels Cemetery in the spring.
