Verna Marie Robertson

Ms. Verna Marie Robertson of Clinton, passed away peacefully at Huronview Home, Clinton, on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. She was in her 86th year.

Verna was the last surviving member of the Robertson family of Mitchell. She was the wife of the late Harvey William Garniss, and the late William James Stinson. Verna was the dearly loved mother of Gina and Rick Shropshall, Clinton; Roger Garniss and Ilona Luther, Goderich; Gary and Judy Garniss, Goderich; Paul and Dianne Garniss, Hamilton; Jim and Julie Stinson, Hamilton; Heather and Paul Wick, Grande Prairie, Alberta and the stepmother of Sue Riley, Hensall and Joanne Thompson, London. Verna was the cherished grandmother of 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Verna was predeceased by her parents Russell and Hazel Robertson, siblings Leonard, Eleanor, Greta, Florence, and Lorraine, and by two grandchildren.

Friends were received at the Falconer Funeral Homes, Clinton Chapel on June 7. The funeral service was held Saturday, June 8. Cremation is to follow with interment of ashes at a later date.
