U13 HL Huron Heat win their very own Bring the Heat tournament in Seaforth

Over the weekend, the playoffs continued for the Huron Heat, while the U11 C and HL Heat teams hosted a successful Bring the Heat tournament in Seaforth and Hensall.
On Sunday, Feb. 16, the U13 B Heat lost their playoff game to the Kinucks in Kincardine by a score of 5-1, while the U15 A Heat lost their regular season game to the South Huron Sabres in Clinton by a score of 2-0. Also that day, the U11 A Heat and Senior teams were to play playoff games with the South Huron Sabres in Clinton and Seaforth on the road, respectively, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time. The U9 B Heat were scheduled to play the Waterloo Ravens in Brussels that afternoon, but that game was cancelled.
In playoff action last Saturday, the U13 B Heat lost to the Central Perth Predators on the road by a score of 2-1, the U13 C Heat lost to the Stratford Aces in Blyth by a score of 1-0 and the U18 C Heat tied the Lucan Irish at two on the road. Meanwhile, in regular season action, the U15 A Heat lost to the Chatham Crush by a score of 6-0, the U9 HL Heat beat the St. Marys Rock by a score of 16-1, the U13 A Heat beat the London Devilettes by a score of 2-1 and the U9 C Heat beat the St. Marys Rock by a score of 3-1, all on the road.
As for the Bring the Heat Tournament in Seaforth and Hensall, the U11 HL Heat would use the home ice advantage to its fullest, winning the tournament with a 1-0 victory over the Lucan Irish on Sunday in the championship game.
The team opened its tournament with a 3-2 victory over the Wingham/Lucknow 86ers on Valentine’s Day, followed by a 3-0 win over the Bruce Peninsula Blue team later that day.
On Saturday, the Heat lost to the Lucan Irish by a score of 3-2 in the team’s only game of the day. But then, on Sunday, the team beat the Wingham/Lucknow 86ers by a score of 1-0 in the semi-final round before besting the Lucan Irish by a score of 1-0 in the finals to win the championship.
On the other side of the bracket, the U11 C Heat made it to the semi-finals of the tournament, but fell to the Upper Maitland Mustangs by a score of 4-1.
That team’s tournament play began with a 6-0 loss to Saugeen Shores and a 2-1 loss to the South Huron Sabres, both on Friday, followed by a Saturday loss to the Temiskaming Shores Puckhounds by a score of 2-1 and then a 2-1 win in the quarterfinals over the Stratford Aces to propel the Heat into semi-final play on Sunday.
On Feb. 13, the U18 C Heat tied their playoff game with the Lucan Irish in Blyth by a score of 2-2, while the U13 C Heat won their playdown with the Central Perth Predators on the road by a score of 7-1. One day earlier, the U18 C Heat saw their playdown with the Upper Maitland Mustangs in Howick cancelled, while, one day earlier, the U13 C Heat won their playdown with the St. Marys Rock in Brussels by a score of 2-0 and the U9 B Heat beat the Wolverines in Wilmot by a score of 5-1.
On Monday, the U18 BB Heat and the U15 B Heat were due to engage in playdowns with the Stratford Aces and St. Marys Rock, respectively and both on the road, though scores for those games were unavailable at press time, and the U13 A Heat saw their home game with the London Devilettes cancelled.
On Feb. 18, the U15 B and U13 A Heat were scheduled to host playdowns in Seaforth with the St. Marys Rock and South Huron Sabres, followed by a Feb. 19 playdown between the U13 A Heat and the South Huron Sabres on the road, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
On Thursday, Feb. 20, the U18 BB Heat were scheduled to host a playoff game with the Brantford Ice Cats in Blyth, while the U13 HL and U15 C Heat teams were scheduled to be on the road for playoff games with the Central Perth Predators and London Devilettes Red, respectively, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
Looking ahead, this weekend, the U9 B Heat will be in Oakville in an attempt to Survive the Hive, as the tournament is named, while the U15 B Heat will be in Brantford for the annual Walter Gretzky Tournament.
On Friday, the U9 B Heat will play the Whitby Wolves and the Mississauga Hurricanes, while the U15 B Heat will play the Hamilton Hawks and host Brantford Ice Cats on that same day.
Also that night, the U13 A Heat will host a playoff game with the Windsor Wildcats in Seaforth and the U15 A Heat will take on the Stratford Aces in playoff action in Hensall.
The next day, the U9 B Heat will continue their tournament play with a game against the Oakville Hornets, while the U15 B Heat will play the Haldimand River Cats in their tournament.
That day, in playoff action, the U13 B Heat will play the Capitals in Walkerton, the U13 C Heat will host the Woodstock Wildcats in Blyth, the U13 HL will take on Lucan/Ilderton in Seaforth, the U13 C Heat will play the Aces in Stratford, the U13 A Heat will play the Wildcats in Windsor, the U18 C Heat will play the B.A.D. Blazers on the road and the U18 BB Heat will host the Stratford Aces in Clinton.
In regular season play that day, the U9 HL team will play the St. Marys Rock and the U9 C Heat will play the Lambeth Lancers, both in Seaforth, while the Senior C team will play Elma Logan on the road.
Playoff games continue the next day, when the U13 C Heat play the Stratford Aces on the road, the U13 B Heat host the Mount Forest Rams and the U13 HL Heat play the Tillsonburg Lightning, both in Brussels, the Senior team hosts the Huron Cats in Hensall and the U18 C Heat welcome the Woodstock Wildcats to Seaforth. The U9 C ad HL Heat teams will play regular season games with the St. Marys Rock in Clinton and the Sarnia Lady Sting Black team on the road, respectively.
As a new week begins, the U13 B Heat will take on the St. Marys Rock in a playoff game on the road on Monday, Feb. 24, followed the next day by a trio of playoff games: the U11 C Heat vs. the Lucknow/Wingham 86ers in Wingham, the U13 B Heat vs. the South Huron Sabres in Seaforth and the U15 A Heat vs. the South Huron Sabres on the road.
On Feb. 26, the U18 C Heat will be on the road for a playoff game with the South Huron Sabres, while, the next day, there are three playoff games on the schedule. The U18 C Heat will host the Lucknow/Wingham 86ers in Blyth, the U11 C Heat will play the Upper Maitland Mustangs in Howick and the U18 BB Heat will play the Brantford Ice Cats on the road.
