U11 A Huron Heat settle for silver in Toronto's March Match-up tournament

Over the weekend, at the 44th annual Toronto Leaside March Match-up tournament, the U11 A Huron Heat made it to the Pool B championship game, but they fell to the host Toronto Leaside Wildcats by a score of 2-0, settling for silver after a solid campaign.
The Heat opened their tournament with a 3-0 win over the Markham-Stouffville Stars and then a 2-0 loss to the Lambeth Lancers, both on Friday, March 21. On Saturday, the Heat shutout the Central York Panthers by a score of 3-0 and then tied the Burlington Barracudas at one before heading to the Pool B final to face the host Toronto Leaside Wildcats.
On Sunday, March 23, the U13 HL Heat beat Lucan/Ilderton in their playoff game in Brussels by a score of 3-0 and the U13 B Heat beat the Central Perth Predators on the road by a score of 1-0 in their playoff game. Also that day, the Senior C team hosted a playoff game with Elma Logan in Brussels and the U9 C Heat played a regular season game with the Stratford Aces in Clinton, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
Last Saturday, the U18 C Heat lost their playoff game with the Woodstock Wildcats by a score of 3-0 on the road, while the U13 C Heat beat the Stratford Aces in their playoff game in Seaforth. Also that day, the U9 B Heat won their regular season game with the Kitchener Lady Rangers by a score of 3-0 and the U9 HL team beat the St. Thomas Panthers by a score of 3-2 in their regular season game, both in Seaforth.
On Friday, the U9 C Heat played the Woodstock Wildcats in a regular season game in Seaforth, but a score for that game was unavailable at press time.
One day earlier, the U11 HL Heat won their playoff game with the South Huron Sabres by a score of 1-0 in Brussels and the U15 C Heat won their playoff game with the Lambton Attack by a score of 3-0, also in Brussels.
Back on March 18, the U9 B Heat won their regular season game with the Grand River Mustangs in Brussels by a score of 5-0.
On March 24, the U15 B Heat was on the road for a playoff game with the St. Marys Rock, but a score for that game was unavailable at press time.
Tonight, Friday, March 28, the U13 HL will be in Tillsonburg for a playoff game with the Lightning and then, the next day, the U9 HL and U9 B Heat teams will both be on the road for regular season games with the Stratford Aces and the London Devilettes, respectively.
On Sunday, March 30, the U9 HL and U9 C Heat teams will both be on the road, playing exhibition games with the Lucknow/Wingham 86ers and the Ilderton Jets, respectively.
The weekend of April 4-6 means that the U9 HL team will be in St. Marys for the Western Ontario Girls Hockey League Championship tournament. Also, by that weekend, playoff action will be wrapped up for the Heat ahead of the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA) provincial championships, scheduled to be played in the Toronto area. Five Heat teams - the U9 B, U9 C, U11 C , U13 B and U13 C Heat - will all be there.
For the U9 B Heat, action begins on Saturday with games against the Brantford Ice Cats and the Toronto Leaside Wildcats, followed by games the next day with the Brampton Canadettes and the North Bay Junior Lakers.
The U9 C Heat will play the very first game of their provincial championship tournament, taking on the North Bay Junior Lakers and then the Stittsville Rockets on Saturday, followed by Sunday games with the Owen Sound Ice Hawks and the Woodstock Wildcats.
The U11 C Heat have three games on their provincial championship schedule, first taking on the Kemptville Storm on Friday, followed by Saturday games against the Smith Falls Cubs and the Ilderton Jets in the hopes of reaching the semifinals and beyond on Sunday.
On Friday, the U13 B Huron Heat will play the Huntsville Sting and the Toronto Leaside Wildcats, followed by a Saturday game with the Lindsay Lynx ahead of championship round action scheduled for Sunday.
The U13 C Heat will play the first game of the provincial tournament, playing the Belmont Blazers on Friday, followed by Saturday games against the Mooretown Lady Flags and the Stittsville Rockets, with championship round play scheduled for Sunday.
