Thomas Alexander Powell
Thomas Alexander Powell of Listowel and formerly of Cambridge, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022. He was in his 80th year.
Tom was the calm in the family; unassuming. Congestive heart failure/flash pulmonary edema took its toll on him. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa.
He was happiest at Fisherman’s Cove near Kincardine. Retired 25 years, Tom was a very lucky guy and so proud of what his two sons have become with their upbringing. We all will hold many memories of him in our day-to-day lives.
Tom was the husband of Dorothy (Marks) Powell and the father of Colin and Beatrice Powell, Waterloo; Jay and Angela Powell, Wellesley and the grandpa of Ethan and Blake.
Tom was the brother-in-law of Mildred Pfeifer and Edith Wilkins, both of London, Stanley Marks and Alice Marks, both of Brussels. He was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Winnifred (Schildroth) Powell, sister Carol Holland and her husband Doug, brother-in-law David Marks, and sister-in-law Nancy Marks.
Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Friday, Feb. 4 from 10 - 11 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Rev. Beth Kerr will officiate. The service will be livestreamed and the link is available on the funeral home website. Spring interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
