Sue (Gillespie) Johnston

At Huronlea Home for the Aged in Brussels, on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, Sue (Gillespie) Johnston of Wingham passed away at the age of 74.

 

The beloved wife of the late Jim Johnston, who predeceased her in 2007, Sue was the loving Mom of Rob and Amanda Johnston, Kim Johnston and Kent Brittain and mother-in-law of Connie Johnston. She was the cherished Grandma of Kesha and Travis Clarke, Austin Johnston and Alicia Ireland, Desiree Johnston, Rayna and Blake Johnston, Abi and Blake Brittain and great-grandma of Scarlett and Doreen Clarke and Maverick Johnston. Sue will be missed by her brothers Wayne and Marion Gillespie, Barry Gillespie, brother-in-law Harold and Etoile Johnston and by her many nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Sue was predeceased by her son, Rick Johnston, and parents, Robert and Isabel (Reevie) Gillespie.

 

Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home chapel and a reception at the Wingham Sportsman’s Club. 

 

Interment will take place in the spring at Wingham Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
