Robert "Rob" Lloyd Keffer
Robert “Rob” Lloyd Keffer passed away suddenly at the family farm outside of Ethel, on July 3, 2022. He was 59.
Rob was the beloved husband of Christine (Guikema) for 37 years; the loving dad of Ashley and Brad Lesperance, Mike Keffer and Jessica Zaba and Meagan Keffer and Mark Pollock and the proud Papa of Brooke, Carson, Chloe, Mya, Tyler and Baby ‘L’.
He was the brother of Linda (Tom) Stevens, Wanda (Don) Long, Dan (Brenda) Keffer, Barb (Murray) Elliott, Donna (Jack) West and Murray (Shelley) Keffer and the brother-in-law of Jackie Guikema, Marty (Lee) Guikema and Sean (Julie) Guikema, Jim Jelfs and Brian Secrett.
Rob is survived by in-laws Peter (Deane) Guikema and will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighbours and especially missed by his buddies.
Rob was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Alice Keffer, his brother Gary Keffer, sisters Dale Jelfs and Lorraine Secrett.
Rob was well known in his community as a generous man who always had a story. He had an amazing sense of humour and wasn’t scared to tell you what was on his mind. He loved his dogs, Baxter and Sheba, but his greatest love was for his family and friends. He liked family trips with his kids and going to the casino with Christine. He spent time with Mike out in the bush cutting wood and everyone will always remember chicken-killin’ Sundays.
He enjoyed going to the grocery store, always making sure he knew what was on special. He loved being outside in his vegetable garden, sharing his bounty and making his “Hun” do the canning. Rob farmed for a large portion of his life and worked as a feed mill operator in the area. He was the life of the party, according to his friends, and lived his best life all the time.
Friends and family were invited to a visitation at Riverside Funeral Home in Brussels on Wednesday July 6. A family and friends graveside service took place the morning of July 7, followed by a celebration of Rob’s life at the Four Winds Barn in Brussels.
In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grey Firefighters’ Association would be appreciated.
