Bob was born in Rock Glen Saskatchewan, making the trek with family to Londesborough and then settling in Brussels in 1937 when he was just 10 years old.
Bob started working early in life, deciding that turnip farming wasn’t for him, he turned to working on a construction crew with Harold Thomas. Bob became a licensed carpenter, bricklayer and plasterer and worked for over 25 years at McDonald Lumber, which he left to start Raymond Renovations with his son Bruce. Many houses in Brussels benefited from the hands of this talented tradesman.
Bob met Doreen in 1947 and it was love at first sight. They were married in 1952 and started a family in Brussels. Bob was a hard worker with an amazing work ethic that he passed on to his children and grandchildren.
He was a quiet, honest, generous and dependable man with a good sense of humour. Bob was family-oriented. His children respected him and knew “the look” that meant they needed to smarten up. He was always very proud of his children and his wife. Bob was a good man and will be greatly missed.
