Robert "Bob" Lillycrop
God looked around his garden
and found an empty place,
He looked down on earth and
saw your tired face,
He put his arms around you
and lifted you to rest,
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Lillycrop at Sakura House with his family by his side on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018. He was in his 79th year.
Robert fought valiantly but finally succumbed to the vulnerabilities of cancer.
He will be lovingly missed by children Tracy Hernandez and Sheri Malandruccolo and their spouses Jim and Guiliano.
Robert was the proud grandfather of Jakob Benko and Alyssa Hernandez and cherished brother-in-law of Doreen Lillycrop, Jean Hutchison and Larry Bolger. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Robert was predeceased by his wife Shirley Elizabeth (Bolger) Lillycrop of 50 years, brother Jack Lillycrop and Ted Lillycrop, brother-in-law Bill Hutchison and parents Irving and Janet Lillycrop.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful doctors, nurses, and support staff of Sakura House and the nurses from South West LHIN who visited Bob at home. They always treated him with love, dignity, and respect.
Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Bob’s wishes. There will not be a funeral, however there will be a graveside service to inter his cremated remains at Brussels Cemetery on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 11:30 a.m. to be followed by a reception at Brussels United Church.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Sakura House would be appreciated by the family.
