Mark Steven Nethery
It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Nethery (lovingly known as “Uncle Mark”) of Calgary, Alberta.
Mark is survived by his four siblings: Cindy, Bert, Eric, and Anita. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, including his great-nieces and great-nephews, whom he loved very much. He is also survived by his close friend Pat who had a very special place in Mark’s life.
Mark was born on Dec. 14, 1959, in Clinton; the third born of Elizabeth Gwendolyn Lloyd and John Thomas Nethery. Mark spent his early years on a farm near Clinton before moving to Blyth for some time, then back to his birthplace of Clinton before eventually moving to Calgary, Alberta in 2004 to be closer to his older sister Cindy. Mark’s mother Elizabeth was a very important light in his life and he always loved her with all his heart.
Mark was a very loving and helpful man who was always willing to lend a hand to his family and friends. From shovelling snow, yard work to even helping with a move, Mark would always jump at the chance to help the ones he loved. He was also fond of sharing a good-old cheesy joke and his smile was always welcomed by anyone around. He was also a very giving man and loved to always share gifts and his time by volunteering when he could.
In keeping with Mark’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held. A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2025 with an exact date to be determined in short order. His ashes will be brought home to Ontario and be placed with his mother Elizabeth.
