Marion June Machan (née Shantz)

Marion Machan (née Shantz) of Blyth, passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020. She was in her 83rd year.

 

Marion was the beloved wife for 62 years of Lloyd Machan and the dear mother and mother- in-law of June and Harry Bakker, Blyth; Cathy Machan, Nile and Scott and Tammy Machan, Genelle, British Columbia.

 

Marion was predeceased by her son Ken Machan and son-in-law Mike Miller. She will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Mandy, Danny, Jodi, Aaron, Courtney, Melissa, Tia, Tori and great-grandchildren Gracie, Chancen, Darien, Kiera, Hailey, Emma and Will.

 

Marion was the sister and sister-in-law of Nancy and Harvey Thompson, John and Elaine Shantz, Gord and Carol Shantz and Paul Shantz. She was predeceased by her brother Jim Shantz and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

 

At Marion’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family service was held at Blyth United Church. Interment of ashes was in Blyth Union Cemetery.

 

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada would be greatly appreciated.
