Marilyn Jones

At Wingham and District Hospital on Sunday, June 18, 2023, Marilyn Jones of Wingham passed away peacefully at the age of 78.

 

The cherished mom of Shelley Jones-Hubbard of Wingham, Rob Jones of Wingham, Rod and Heather Jones of Lucknow and Jennifer and Russ Lamondin of Stratford, Marilyn was the loving grandma of Jolanda (Shawn), Kristin, Meagan, Shae-Lynn (Jeff), Sherydan, Tyler, Alyssa, Lucas (Evelyn) and Josie. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.  

 

Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Ron Jones, infant son James Darwin Jones and parents Shirley (Semple) Murray and James and Viola Murray.

 

Marilyn graduated from the RNA school in Wingham and went on to nurse at the Wingham hospital for many years, a career she enjoyed. 

 

She loved people; she could always be found chatting with everyone she met and never turned down an opportunity for conversation. She had a passion for knitting beautiful blankets and sweaters and pretty much anything you wanted her to do. She loved animals, especially puppies. 

 

Our family will miss her beautiful smile, her witty, sharp tongue - that sometimes got her into trouble - and her incredibly kind soul.
Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Thursday, June 22 and will be held again on Friday, June 23 from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Final resting place, Wingham Cemetery. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care) would be appreciated.
