Marilyn Bridge
Marilyn Bridge of Wingham, passed away peacefully at Wingham and District Hospital with her family by her side, on Monday, March 22, 2021. She was 80.
Marilyn was the loving mom of Sharon Shobbrook, Sheila and Terry Armstrong, Lyle and Audrey Bridge, Lynne and Don Armstrong, Brad and Diane Shobbrook, Susan Bridge and Don, Steven Bridge and Vicky and Krista Marston. She was the cherished grandma of 17 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and the dear sister and sister-in-law of Phyllis Biggin and Denis Jewitt, Wayne and Barb Fear, Larry and Linda Fear, Bruce and Joyce Fear and Verna Edgar.
Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by the extended Shobbrook and Bridge families. She was predeceased by her first husband Rae Shobbrook, second husband Allan Bridge, brother Russell Fear, parents Samuel and Margaret Fear, daughter-in-law Cathy Bridge and son-in-law Marvin Fulmek.
Marilyn’s greatest accomplishment was her family, who meant the world to her. She took great pride in her grandchildren. She was so proud of each and every one of them and everything they had accomplished and she loved hearing about their lives. She loved when they would come to visit her or call, especially in the last few years while she was on her own. Marilyn was a social butterfly and would drop everything in an instant if an opportunity came to spend time with her family or her friends.
Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on March 25. A private funeral service was held at the Wingham United Church on Friday, March 26. Rev. Colin Snyder officiated. Marilyn’s final resting place will be at Wingham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Wingham and District Hospital Foundation (Oncology) or the North Huron Family Health Team would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
