Maria Elizabeth "Mary" Terpstra

Maria Elizabeth “Mary” Terpstra went to be with her Lord peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich. She was in her 66th year.

 

Mary is survived by siblings Emma (Henk) Boersen, Julie (Martin) Van Bakel, Nick (Catherine) Terpstra, Herman (Rosemary) Terpstra, Joe (Miriam) Terpstra, twin sister Joanne De Brabandere and brother Mike Terpstra, sisters-in-law Hennie Terpstra and Catherine Terpstra.

 

She was the favourite aunt of many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Mary will be sadly missed by her housemates Debra and Corrine, and all her caregivers at Community Living.

 

Mary was predeceased by parents Nicolaas and Johanna Terpstra, siblings Helen Terpstra, Margaret (Bill) Van Nes, Patricia Armstrong, Ben and Charlie Terpstra, nephews Nick Van Nes, Brian Terpstra and Chris Terpstra, also her special friend Alf McKee, and her soul sister Debbie Williams.

 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions a private Catholic Funeral Mass took place on Tuesday, June 1 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Interment was in St. Ambrose Cemetery, Brussels. Rev. Vince Gulikers officiated.

 

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to Alexandra Marine and General Hospital or St. Peter’s Catholic Church would be appreciated. Donations and cards of sympathy may be sent to Box 340, Brussels.
