Lorraine (Steuernol) Masse

Lorraine (Steuernol) Masse of Goderich, and formerly of Gorrie, passed away at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021. She was 90.

 

Lorraine was the devoted mom of Debbie and Mark Ireland, Teeswater; Susie and Marvin McLean, Wroxeter and Nancy and Brian Goetz, Wroxeter. She was the cherished grandma of Jenny and Bill McGrath, Dennis and Trisha McLean, Jason and Jane Anne Ireland, Jodie and Geoff Tummers, Adam and Julie Ireland, Josh and Marjan Ireland, Cody and Ashley Goetz and Jesse Goetz.

 

Lorraine was the loving great-grandma of Jessica, Justin, Jasmine, Janessa, Zackery, Brycen, Cameron, Mac, Elyse, Joel, Tyson, Emily, Andrew, Austin, Connor, Nash, Jenna, Emmett and Veronica and great-great-grandma of Melody and Arnen. 
Lorraine was the sister-in-law of Bob and Ardell and Mary and Joyce Steuernol. Lorraine will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, large extended family and friends. 

 

She was predeceased by her parents George and Astella (Bell) Hall, her first husband Archie Steuernol (1992), second husband Donald Masse (2016), sisters Helen Scott (Danny) and Betty MacDonald (Alex), brothers Willis (Ida), Johnny and Melvin Hall, great-grandchildren Jordan Marie Ireland and Cole Tummers, both in infancy, brothers-in-law Mac Steuernol (Beryl), Bert Steuernol, John Steuernol and sisters-in-law Wyn Howes (Jim), Ruby Howes (Les) and Jean Wilton (Wallace).

 

A private family service will be held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Friday, Oct. 29 at 12:30 p.m. A livestream of the service with a link to view will be available shortly. Interment will take place at Gorrie Cemetery. 

 

A celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held at the Wingham Knights of Columbus Centre on Friday, Oct. 29 beginning at 2:30 p.m. Proof of vaccination and ID will be required prior to entry.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Huron County Food Bank or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
