Kenneth Albert Hunking
Kenneth Albert Hunking of Wingham, formerly of Hullett Township and Toronto, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024 at Wingham and District Hospital in his 82nd year.
Ken was born on Oct. 18, 1943 in Blyth to Henry Rundle Hunking and Marion Harriett (Quinn) Hunking, both of whom predeceased Ken.
Ken is survived by his sister Shirley Irene Norman and her family: Darlene Elliott (Ray Eckel), Bill, Cheryl (Larry) Scherbarth, David, Jenn (Tyson) Arts, Julia and by Shirley’s six grandchildren: Miranda, Austin, and Ethan Scherbarth, and Rylee, Emma, and Dylan Arts.
Ken was predeceased by his sister Bernice (2010), nephew Don Elliott (2007), and brother-in-law Wallace Norman (2001).
Ken joined CIBC (The Commerce) in Auburn in 1962, serving several branches in southwestern Ontario. He was then transferred to Toronto, enjoying many years of work and life there. After a long career in banking, he returned home to the Hunking farm.
Friends were received at Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton, on Friday Dec. 13 and again on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Londesborough United Church. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Spring interment will be at Hope Chapel Cemetery, Hullett Township.
