John Michael Harrison

John Michael Harrison passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love after a fearless and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was in his 62nd year.

John was married to the love of his life Julie (Koistinen) for 39 years. He was the proud father of Patricia and Jason VanderMeer, Brussels; Katherine and Joshua Wilson, Mississauga and Timothy and Amberly Harrison, Huntsville and the fun-loving papa of Tyler, Julia, Casey, Ella, Zoey, Kaden, Tucker, Cooper and ‘angel’ Ian.

John is survived by sisters Jane Draper, Leanne Langer and Barb Purdy, in-laws Bonny and the late Stephen Koistinen, Phil & Robin Koistinen, Allen & Kathy Koistinen and Carter Ann & Peter Dumonski and families.

John was predeceased by parents, Joan Wissler and Earl Harrison, stepfather Len Wissler, siblings Bette and Bobby Harrison, and parents-in-law George and Audrey Koistinen. He is survived by many extended family members, friends and his dog Winnie.

Friends and family were received at Riverside Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 2 for visitation. A celebration of life memorial service was held at Brussels United Church on Saturday, Feb. 3.

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donations to the Wingham and District Hospital Oncology Department or Pancreatic Cancer Canada would be appreciated.
