Jean (née Williams) Tasker
With a deep sense of loss and yet gratitude that our mom lived a life well led, we share the passing of Jean (née Williams) Tasker on Oct. 27, 2022. She was in her 96th year. Jean was predeceased by her loving husband Lloyd Tasker with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.
She was the beloved mom of Dale and his wife Pat, Holland Landing; Kevin and his wife Connie, Goderich, and Cherida and her husband Edward Riley, London.
Jean’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Lauren (Ryan), Megan (Jon), Nathan, Kabrena and Colton, along with her great-grandchildren, Myles and Tyler, were her pride and joy. The love they shared with her was very special. She also loved her granddogs!
Jean loved life and lived it to the fullest. No matter her age, she knew how important it was to cherish special moments and how to have fun! She was passionate about a good “Bridge” game and was in Blyth bridge clubs for over 50 years. Before retiring to her favourite place, their cottage at Amberley, she worked at Huronview Home for the Aged in Clinton.
She treasured and maintained deep and lasting friendships and, to all of those whose lives she touched, cherish the many memories of a long life well lived.
Jean was born in Brockville, where she met and married Lloyd. They moved to Blyth in 1949. They owned the Tasker Funeral Home and Furniture Store. She was predeceased by her parents Florence (Jarvis) and John Williams, along with four siblings: Inez Bissonnette, Vi Quinn, Eddie Williams and Norman Williams.
Mom/Grandma, you were deeply loved beyond measure and forever in our hearts. We love you!
The family received family and friends for visitation at the Riverside Funeral Home, Blyth Sunday, Oct. 30. The funeral service was held on Monday, Oct. 31.
In lieu of flowers, and as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Blyth United Church or the Red Cross would be appreciated.
