Jannet Lynn (Vere) Lane
Jannet Lynn (Vere) Lane passed away peacefully at her home in Brussels on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022. She was in her 63rd year.
Jannet was the loving wife of Patrick Lane and mother of Mandy and Jason Sproat, Port Elgin; Leanne and Brian Verkley, Pickering; Joey Vinen, Listowel; Levi Lane, Grand Bend; Sean Lane and Chene, Exeter, and Steven and Vanessa Lane, Lucan. Jannet was the proud grandmother of Jayden, Hadley, Easton, Jensyn, Beckett, Lyndyn, Denver, Mylee, Diane, and Harrison.
The oldest of three girls, Jannet was a beloved sister to Maria “Charly” Chamney, Wiarton, and Nancy and Kent Selinger, Listowel. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, Natasha and Korey Goetz, Brittany and Kevin Stubbard, Megan Selinger and Paul Meyer, and Dustin and Rachel Chamney.
Jannet was predeceased by her parents Floyd Vere and Connie (Hall) Vere, nephew Myles Selinger, and brother-in-law Steven Chamney.
Born in Listowel on Jan. 7, 1960, Jannet and her family lived in many different places in Canada, but she always returned back to the Southwestern Ontario community that she loved and held dear, and raised all three of her children in Listowel.
While Jannet faced many health challenges throughout her life, she trusted in God to give her the strength to continue caring for her loved ones and kept a positive attitude throughout. Her deep faith and love in Jesus was a constant source of comfort to her and she was always ready and willing to provide support and love to others.
A private family funeral service was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Pastor Doug Baker officiated. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
