James "Jim" Douglas Fritz

Suddenly on Nov. 7, 2018 at his home, James Douglas Fritz went to be with his beloved wife Barb. He was in his 79th year.

Jim was the loving husband of Barb (2017) for 51 years and adoring dad of Tim Fritz, Kim and Ron Strome, Steve Fritz and Greg and Jill Fritz. He was the proud grandfather of Emma, Dan, Sarah, Darian, Dustin, Abby, Luke, Raelyn, Meg, Ava and Nate. 

Jim is survived by sister Marjorie Brown, brothers Donald (Marie) Fritz, Bryon and Richard Fritz and sister-in-law Marion Uhler.

He was predeceased by parents Katherine and Albert Fritz and in-laws Bill and Marie Turnbull, sister-in-law Shirley Turnbull, brothers-in-law Doug Brown, Ron Uhler and sisters-in-law Marilyn Fritz and Jeannine Robillard. Jim will be missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jim loved to farm, hunt and fish. He was an avid hockey fan who played himself and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play. He was very proud of his family and appreciated them for the people they had become.

Friends and family were received at Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre on Monday, Nov. 12 for a celebration of Jim’s life. A private family interment followed.

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brussels, Morris and Grey Arena Building Renovation Fund or Cystic Fibrosis would be appreciated. Cards of sympathy may be sent to Box 493 Brussels, ON.
