Huron Heat Day another success in Seaforth

Huron Heat Day - now a two-day extravaganza of girls’ hockey at the Seaforth and District Community Centre - saw a number of Heat teams hit the ice last Friday and Saturday, with many finding victory along the way.
Friday night began with a pair of draws, as the U13 A Heat finished square with the London Devilettes at two goals each and then the U13 HL Heat tied the Bluewater Hawks at one. After those games, the U15 A team lost an exhibition game to the Stratford Aces by a score of 3-2, followed by a 3-1 defeat for the U18 BB Heat at the hands of the Walkerton Capitals.
The next day, Seaforth played host to exhibition games between the U7, U9 C and U9 HL Heat teams and their Twin Centre Hericanes friends, while the U11 A team played an exhibition game with the South Huron Sabres.
The U13 B Heat beat the Central Perth Predators by a score of 2-1, the U11 C Heat lost to the Twin Centre Hericanes by a score of 2-1, the U13 C Heat beat the Stratford Aces 1-0, the U15 B Heat shutout the Bluewater Hawks 2-0 and the U18 C Heat lost to the Twin Centre Hericanes by a score of 5-1. The U11 HL, U13 HL and U15 C Heat teams all played their Hericane counterparts from Twin Centre that day as part of the Huron Heat Day action, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
The only non-Huron Heat Day game of the day was played in South Huron, with the U13 A Heat ending their game with the South Huron Sabres in a scoreless draw.
The next day was another busy one. The U15 B Heat lost to the Kincardine Kinucks in Clinton by a score of 3-2, followed by a 4-1 win by the Lakeshore Lightning over the U15 A Heat, also in Clinton.
The U9 HL Heat played the Irish in Lucan, though a score wasn’t kept for that game. The U13 C Heat beat the South Huron Sabres on the road by a score of 3-0, the U18 C Heat lost to the Twin Centre Hericanes, also on the road, by a score of 6-0, the U13 HL Heat beat the Hawks in Bluewater by a score of 2-0 and the U18 BB Heat lost to the Ice Hawks in Owen Sound by a score of 1-0.
Also that day, the U15 C Heat lost to the Central Perth Predators by a score of 9-0. Meanwhile, the Senior team played the Kitchener Lady Rangers in Hensall and the U11 A and U9 B Heat teams played exhibition games against the Kincardine Kinucks at Budweiser Gardens and the Bluewater Hawks at the Gemini Sportsplex Arena, respectively, and scores were not available for those games.
On Wednesday, the U13 C Heat played the St. Marys Rock, but a score for that game was unavailable at press time.
Looking ahead, on Saturday, Oct. 26, the U13 B Heat will be in Walkerton to play the Capitals, the U9 C and U9 HL teams will be in Seaforth to host two South Huron Sabres teams, the U11 C Heat will host the Tillsonburg Lightning in Seaforth and the U15 B Heat will play South Huron/Lucan on the road.
Also that day, the U11 HL Heat will play the Ilderton Jets in Seaforth, the U15 C Heat will play the St. Marys Rock on the road, the U11 A Heat will play the Lancers in Lambeth, the U15 A team will play the Panthers in St. Thomas and the Senior team will be on the road to play the Kitchener Lady Rangers. The U13 A Heat will also play an exhibition contest with the London Devilettes that day, also on the road.
On Sunday, the U9 HL Heat will welcome the St. Marys Rock to Clinton, the U15 C Heat will play the Aces in Stratford, the U15 B Heat will play the Walkerton Capitals in Clinton, the U15 A Heat will play the Chatham Crush, also in Clinton, and the U13 A Heat will play the Bluewater Hawks on the road.
The U11 C Heat will also play the Wildcats in Woodstock that day, while the U13 HL team will play Lucan/Ilderton in Brussels, the Senior C team will welcome Elma Logan to Brussels and the U18 BB team will play the Ayr Rockets on the road.
On Oct. 29, the U9 B team will play an exhibition game with the London Devilettes, while, the next night, the U15 C Heat will play the Mitchell Meteors on the road.
Then, on the weekend of Nov. 1-3, the U11 A and U13 A Heat teams will both travel east to take part in the Waterloo Fall Challenge Cup.
