Hebo Siertsema
It is with deep sadness that we notify friends and family of the passing of Mr. Hebo Siertsema.
Hebo had a full and happy life with his loving soulmate and wife Marg (2020) of 60 years. He was the loving father of Jean (Bill) Bennett, Alan (Dasha) Siertsema, Ken (Dianne) Siertsema, and Bruce (Cindy) Siertsema.
He was the doting grandfather of Blair (Rachel) Bennett, Dominik, Christopher, Alex, Nicholas, Josh, Lilly, Jessica Nethery, Kasey, Amber, Nicole and Tyler and the great-grandpa of Penny and Evie.
He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, neighbours and friends.
Hebo has always been an invested dairy farmer, from being on the board at Gay Lea to trucking dairy products and helping with 4-H to owning his own dairy farm for 60 years. He was always willing to help out any club in the community, especially if his kids were involved. He loved to visit his family and celebrate milestones but not until all the chores had been done.
He played broomball with the 3rd Line and loved to go snowmobiling with the Blyth Snow Travelers. He loved to hunt with the gang and to share his knowledge of hunting. He had many hunting dogs and used to snowshoe into the bush just to get a good shot.
A man who contributed much to this world with his farming, his friendship, his neighbourly ways, Hebo had a love of a good conversation and an easy smile.
A drive-by visitation took place on Saturday, June 4 in front of the Blyth Union Cemetery on Cemetery Road.
In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to Melville Presbyterian Church or Wingham & District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. Cards of sympathy may be sent to Box 340, Brussels, N0G 1H0.
