Grietje (Greta) Greidanus (née Siertsema)
Grietje (Greta) Greidanus (née Siertsema) was taken to be with her Lord and Saviour on April 6, 2025, in her 90th year.
Greta was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in 1950 with her family to Ilderton, Ontario. She found the love of her life Don Greidanus and they married on May 21, 1956.
Don and Greta spent most of their life farming near Londesborough, where they raised their 10 children. They were members of the Blyth Christian Reformed Church.
Greta was the loving mother and mother-in-law of Janet and John Adazzio of Palmerston, John and Debbie Greidanus of St. Thomas, Bert Greidanus and Nancy Bolender of Bayfield, Louis and Nancy Greidanus of Londesborough, Bill Greidanus of Goderich, Tracey and Jeff DeWeerd of Listowel, Janny and Richard Simmons of Palmerston, Betty Doig and Sean Crandell of Wingham, Terry and Kim Greidanus of Londesborough, and Grant and Jill Greidanus of Goderich.
She was the loving grandmother of Daniel, Jacqueline, Alexandra (Cody), Darren, (Catrina), Samantha (Adam), Jarrett, Donny (Katrina), Katherine, Nicole (Dylan), Brad (Jess), Jeremy (Rachel), Paul (Juliana), Simon, Tyler, Candice (Colton), Daniel (Kristy), Damion, Shelby, Emma, Kara, Suzanne, Jayden and predeceased by Suzanne, Benjamin. She was the great-grandma of Rowan, Charlie, Evelyn, Dayton, Gunnar, Spencer, Lydia, Lucas, Hailynn, Warren, Makenzie, Bailey, Owen, Parker, Blake, Bryn, Lottee, Sam, Gerrit, Jacob, Hendrik, Marcus, David, Luke, Ezra, Hudson, Hadleigh, Rowan, and Wyatt.
She was the beloved sister and sister-in-law of Teresa Roetcisonder, Betty and Clarence Baker, John and Kathleen Siertsema, Mieneka Siertsema, Doreen Siertsema, Annie Siertsema, Jack and Joanne Koetsier, and Eileen Greidanus.
Friends were received at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church on Thursday, April 10 and the funeral service will be held on Friday, April 11 at 11 a.m. Interment at Blyth Union Cemetery.
