Gordon David Carter

Gordon David Carter, 93, of Tavistock passed away peacefully with family by his side at peopleCare Tavistock on Monday, June 14, 2021. He was born in East Wawanosh on May 9, 1928, a son of the late William and Viola (Wilson) Carter. 

Gordon had farmed near Blyth prior to farming near Tavistock. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Tavistock. 
Gordon was predeceased by his first wife, Agnes Ann Marie (Marks) Carter (1967); his son, Ron Carter (2021); his daughter, Rose Mary Fidom (2003); brothers, Robert and wife Nancy Carter and James Carter; sister, Mildred and husband Stewart Ament. 

Gordon is survived by his second wife, Lois Marian (Cheslock) Carter; his son, Lloyd Carter of Wingham; two daughters, Joyce Carter of Blyth, Annette Ward of Mitchell; his daughter-in-law Michelle Burrs of Belgrave; his sister-in-law, Elsie Carter of Brussels; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends were received at Francis Funeral Home, Tavistock on June 20. A graveside funeral service was held at Blyth Union Cemetery, Blyth on June 21. Pastor William Kramer officiated.
