George Adam Somers

George Adam Somers passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife, three sons and daughter at Huronlea Home for the Aged, Brussels on Dec. 1, 2017. He was in his 87th year.

George was the beloved husband of Fannie Somers, loving father of Ross (Judy), Rick (Deb), Randy (Tammy) and Janice (Bill) Smith and father-in-law of Dianne Somers. He was the grandfather and great-grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

George was predeceased by his son Rodger and brother Vernon ‘Pal” Somers.

Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at Riverside Funeral Home for the funeral service on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Brussels Cemetery. Following the ceremony, everyone is invited to a come-and-go celebration of life at the Royal Canadian Legion Brussels Branch 218 from 1-4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Huron County, Brussels Cemetery or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
