Florence May McArter
Mrs. Florence May McArter, formerly of Belgrave, passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021. She was 92.
The former Florence Cook was the beloved wife of the late William McArter who predeceased her in 1980. She was the devoted mother of Joanne and Paul Weishar, Listowel and Gary and Kim McArter, Municipality of Morris-Turnberry. Florence was the loving grandma of Jeremy and Colleen Weishar, Jenny and Jake Heibein, Jordan and Terri Weishar, Trevor and Melanie McArter, Lacey and Jordan Campbell and Kristen and Dave McClory. She was the cherished great-grandma of Brynn and Brayden Weisher, Ellie Heibein, Abby and Keenan Weishar, Landon and Luke McArter and Oaklen and Haley Campbell. Florence was the dear sister and sister-in-law of Muriel Bosman (Owen), Sault Ste. Marie; Mildred Paton, Ingersoll; Evelyn Smith, Regina, Saskatchewan; Ruth Cook, Belgrave and Jean Davidson, Brussels.
Florence was predeceased by her parents George and Ivy Cook, brothers Norman Cook (Lorna), Charlie Cook (Doreen) and Wes Cook, and sisters Lois Green (Ray), Nora Huskinson (Ben), Annie Cook and Elsie Walsh (Jim).
Visitation took place on Monday, Sept. 27 at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham. A private funeral service was held at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, Sept. 28. Interment was in the Brussels Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the North Huron Foodshare would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
