Mrs. Elva Jane (Carter) Armstrong of RR 2, Auburn, passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home for the Aged, Brussels on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. She was in her 93rd year. Elva was the beloved wife of the late Jack Armstrong (2006) and loving mother of Carol and Gerald McDowell and Fred and Ruth Armstrong, all of Auburn. She was the cherished grandmother of Wayne and Claire McDowell, Ron and Alice McDowell, Kim and Allen Walker, Patti and Pat Cronin, Lori and Robert Gordon, Donna Lynn and Brian Merkley and John and Phyllis Armstrong. Elva is also loved and missed by 15 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Irene Wiley, Port Albernie, British Columbia. She was predeceased by two brothers and one sister. Friends were received at the Falconer Funeral Homes - Bluewater Chapel on Friday, March 6. The funeral service was held on Saturday. Rev. Terry Fletcher officiated. Spring interment will be held at  Blyth Union Cemetery. Memorial donations to Knox United Church, Auburn or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
