Elsie (née Essex) Hulley

Elsie (née Essex) Hulley passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Goderich on Nov. 27, 2017. She was in her 79th year.

Elsie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Gordon “Pork” Hulley. She was loved by her daughters Bev Lecomte, Betty (Paul) Popp, Sandra (Steve) Popp, and sons John “Hoob” (Kim) Hulley and Norm (Melyni) Hulley. 

Elsie was a wonderful grandma to Lauren (Corey), Thomas (Olivia), Shawna (Justin), John, Aaron (Delaney), Matt (Mel), McKenna, Shelsie (Chubbs), Taylor (Drew), Ally (Cody), Adelline, and Nathan and great-grandma to Jace, Isabella and Dylan. 

Elsie is survived by her brother Joe and cherished aunt Barb Pollock. Elsie was predeceased by her first husband, James Rutledge, her daughter, Donna Rutledge, mother Lola Atkinson, father Clarence Essex, sister Myrna Hunking and brother Ab Essex. 

At Elsie’s request there will be no funeral service. Interment  was in Colborne Cemetery. A celebration of her life was held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Goderich on Friday, Dec. 1.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #109 or the Goderich Recreational Park.
