Elizabeth (Griffith) McKercher
Elizabeth (Griffith) McKercher, formerly of Jamestown, passed away at South Grey Bruce Health Centre, Walkerton on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2018. She was 91.
Elizabeth was the beloved wife of the late Glenn McKercher who predeceased her in 2003. She was the loving mother of Ann and Ron Larsen, Port Elgin and John and Julie McKercher, Wroxeter. She was the cherished grandmother of Heather Larsen and Blair Rodgers, John and Vanessa Larsen, Jenn and Ryan Robinson and Rob McKercher and fiancée Sarah Kwasniewski and the great-grandmother of Alyaina, Kaius, Ryder, Blake and Charlotte.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents George and Annie (Hislop) Griffith, grandson Chris Larsen, sister Millie Nixon (Wallace), brother Jack Griffith and sister-in-law Ruth Sharpin (Clark).
Elizabeth was brought up on a farm in Howick Township and later spent 64 of her 91 years in Jamestown. She worked at the CIBC in Wingham, taught at S.S. #5 Morris, kept store in Jamestown and worked in the family business, McKercher Construction, during her lifetime.
Visitation was held at the McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Oct. 10. The funeral service was held on Oct. 11. Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiated. Elizabeth’s final resting place is in Wroxeter Cemetery.
