Derkje Johanna Wesselink

Mrs. Derkje Johanna Wesselink of Blyth passed away at Huronview Home, Clinton, surrounded by her family on Monday, Nov. 2, 2015. She was in her 86th year.

Derkje was the beloved wife of John Wesselink and the devoted mother of Joan and Dirk DeLange, Stratford; David and Joyce Wesselink, Brussels; Margaret and Bill Karelsen, London; Darlene and Andy Vander Veen, Blyth and Grace and Roy Schinkel, Dorchester. She was the cherished oma of Christa and Shawn Dennis, Derek and Kelley DeLange, David and Brittany DeLange, Justin Wesselink, Adam Wesselink, Josh Wesselink and Donelda, Evan Wesselink, William Karelsen and Christine, Jody and Jason Mulder, Andrea and Brent Meyers, Nikki and Robert Wynja, Janelle and Jason DeWit, Shawn and Dawn Schinkel, Aveleen Schinkel, Dayna and Jordan Barons and Cody and Emily Schinkel. She was also loved by 10 great-grandchildren.

Derkje were missed by her siblings in the Netherlands and New Zealand. She was predeceased by grandson Jesse Wesselink and by two sisters.

Friends will be received at the Falconer Funeral Homes, Blyth Chapel on Nov. 5. The funeral service was held at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church on Friday, Nov. 6. Interment was in Blyth Union Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario would be appreciated.
