Debra Maria Swan
It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Debra Maria Swan, announce her sudden passing, at her dream home in Tara, Ontario, on July 20, 2022. She was 56.
Debbie was a strong, vibrant and very loving person. Caring for others was what she did best. A passionate gardener with a particular love of flowers, she was often enjoying time outdoors. She was an ambitious collector who loved crafting and hands-on projects, always enhancing her home and sharing by giving gifts.
Debbie loved to capture moments and memories, in writing and especially through photography. She loved to explore, travel and be a part of car shows. Always the life of the party and wanting to bring people together, Debbie loved celebrating love and life. Although she had many struggles along her journey, she always remained in faith and held onto positivity for herself and loved ones. Her joyful personality and loving embrace will be cherished and missed dearly.
The loving partner of Glen Orth for seven years, Debbie was the proud mother of Misty Zaranik (Chris Anderson), Katrina (Chris) Nafziger, Natasha (Steve) Ferguson and Jacob Zaranik and the grandmother of many grandchildren.
Debbie was the younger sister of Colin Swan, Sharon Swan, Sue Lane and Monica Stewart. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Debbie was predeceased by her mother Stella Swan, sister June Swan and future mother- in-law, Mabel Orth. She will be forever remembered by many dear friends throughout her lifetime. She will also be missed by co-workers and many residents at Huronlea Home for the Aged in Brussels, where she worked for 23 years.
A private, family graveside service and burial will take place at the Brussels Cemetery. A celebration of Debbie’s life took place on Tuesday, Aug. 2 at the Four Winds Barn in Brussels.
In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CAMH), or the Huronlea Volunteer Auxiliary, would be appreciated.
