Debra Lenn (Dale) Cook
After a courageous six-year battle with ovarian cancer, Debbra Lenn “Debbie” Cook passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Oct. 20, 2020. She was 58.
Debbie was the beloved wife and best friend of Stephen Cook for 39 years. She was the adored mother of Michelle and Kyle Courtney, Exeter and Darcey and Kandace Cook, Lucan. Debbie was the grandma of Lucas, Logan, Lincoln; Sophia and Hannah and the sister of Susan and Barry Bromley, Blyth; Tresa Bromley and Linda Lamont, Elmwood; Gordon and Kathy Dale, Whitechurch and Ernie Dale and Maryanne Fitzgerald, Central Huron. Debbie will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and sisters- and brothers-in-law. She was predeceased by her infant son James Leslie Cook (1985), father Leslie Dale (2003), and mother Shirley (Graham) Dale (2018).
Debbie spent most of her life caring for others, right up to the time of her passing. She was always thinking about the needs of others and putting the needs of herself last. Debbie’s children and grandchildren were most important in her life. She would never miss an opportunity to cheer them on whether it be in athletics, academics or just finding their way through life. Debbie was a motherly figure to many that weren’t her own, she was only a call away for a late night ride and never forgot to make everyone’s special recipes. Debbie was the queen of organizing, from her massive lists to ensuring she had everything you need, it was hard to know how she could keep so many things but if you needed it, she had it.
A public visitation was held on Oct. 23 followed by a private memorial service on Saturday, Oct. 24 at Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter. Interment was at Exeter Cemetery.
Donations to Jessica’s House or Saint Elizabeth’s Health Care Foundation – End of Life Care would be appreciated by the family. Condolences may be left at www.haskettfh.com
