David "Adam" Smith

David “Adam” Smith passed away peacefully on Oct. 4, 2017 at Stratford General Hospital. He was in his 75th year.

Adam was the beloved husband to Kae for 49 years and the loving dad of Fran Patterson and David (Patricia) Smith, the adoring grandpa to Will, James, Tyler (Ashley), Lanie-Joy (Brandt), Jenna Nathaneal, Hannah, Sarah and Joseph and the great-grandfather of Silas and Callam.

Adam was the brother to Ann, Carol (Bill), Joe (Linda), Cora (Ron), Pauline (Bill) and the brother-in-law to Henry Gackstetter. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Adam was predeceased by parents Joe and Laura, sisters Josephine and Laura, sister Doreen and brother-in-law Deb Stewart, brothers-in-law Ross Alcock, Ed   Steinbach, Louie Theil, Bud Hicks and sister-in-law Sandra Gackstetter.

Adam enjoyed life and his family. He was always smiling. He was outgoing and genuinely loved to visit friends and family. He always made people feel happy and sincerely wanted.

Friends and family were received at Riverside Funeral Home for visitation on Wednesday, Oct. 11 and a Legion service was held that evening. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Anglican Church, Brussels with interment  n St. John’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Brussels Branch 218 and St. John’s Anglican Church or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
