Daniel James Dillon

Daniel James Dillon of Wroxeter, passed away at Wingham and District Hospital on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022. He was 61.

 

Dan was the husband of Wendy (Bateman) Dillon and father of Joe and Michelle Dillon, Fordwich; Laura Dillon, Listowel; Tony Dillon and Tracey Steacy, Lucknow, and Carrie Dillon, Wroxeter. He was the grandfather of Ty Dillon, Fordwich; Riley Dillon and Jess Locklyn, Cambridge; Makayla Dillon, Fordwich, and Pheonix Thompson, River Thompson, and Atticus Thompson, all of Listowel and the great-grandfather of Ayden. Dan was the brother of Rick Dillon, Thedford; Randy Dillon, Mitchell; Bev Dillon and Jim Walker, London, and Bonnie Dillon and Clayton Kirk, Riversdale. 

 

Dan will also be sadly missed by Wendy’s siblings, Elaine and Roy Ceal, Prince George, British Columbia; Mary and Jim Sproul, Brussels; Gail and Terry Sproul, Ethel; Glenda and Gerard Ducharme, Ethel,  as well as by his many nieces and nephews. 
Dan was predeceased by his parents Joe and Sue (Harris) Dillon, parents-in-law Robert and Margret Bateman and sister-in-law Carol Bateman.

 

Dan loved camping and spent most of every summer at their trailer, where he did grass cutting and made friends with everyone. He could always be counted on to offer a helping hand. He also loved just spending time with family and friends and his dog Sparky.

 

Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Dec. 12. The funeral service was held on Dec. 13. Interment was at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel.

 

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
