Carol Bateman

Carol Bateman of Wroxeter, formerly of Lucknow, passed away at University Hospital, London on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022. She was 67.  

 

Carol was a former employee of Spinrite Yarns for over 20 years.  She enjoyed reading, knitting and watching old classic TV shows. Carol loved spending time with her family and friends and always made a point of visiting her sisters every week.

 

Carol was the beloved wife of the late Earl (Junior) Whitehead, who predeceased her in 2021.  She was the loving step-mom of Stacey Whitehead (John Gorrie) and Steven Whitehead and step-grandmother of Theo.  Carol was the dear sister of Elaine (Roy) Ceal, Mary (Jim) Sproul, Gail (Terry) Sproul, Wendy (Dan) Dillon and Glenda (Gerard) Ducharme and will be fondly remembered by her aunts June Cochrane, Joan Bateman, Doris McNeilly and many nieces, nephews and cousins.   

 

Carol was predeceased by her parents Bob and Margaret (Cathers) Bateman, her sister Colleen in infancy, and brother-in-law Reinhard Jesse. 

 

Relatives and friends were invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, Atwood on Saturday, Jan. 22. A private family memorial service to celebrate Carol’s life was held on Sunday, Jan. 23. Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiated. Spring interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel. 

 

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation, Diabetes Canada or The Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
