Carm will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, neighbours, and friends and especially missed by the gang.
Carm was a kind, loving man who loved to spend time with his family and especially his grandkids. Growing up in a family of 16 kids, Carm always had an adventure and enjoyed being part of such a large family. He worked as a millwright at the University of Waterloo for 37 years. Carman loved to be outdoors, whether it was hunting, camping or fishing.
Carman loved his garden, and he was an excellent gardener. He took great care of his lawn much to the chagrin of his neighbours who sometimes found it hard to keep up with him. He loved spending time with his grandkids whether fishing, camping, or watching their sports. Carm loved to go on holidays with friends and enjoyed socializing and having a good laugh.
Carm was a volunteer firefighter for 20 years, coached and played broomball, hockey and ball for many years and enjoyed helping his community. He was a member of the Wingham Sportsman Association. He was a man of few words, but each word was sincere and heartfelt. Carm will be missed by many.
Friends and family were invited to visitation at Brussels United Church on Sunday, Feb. 5. A celebration of Carm’s life was held at the Brussels United Church on Monday, Feb. 6.
In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brussels United Church or the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
