Brussels Farmers’
Market brings the best in local produce to downtown
Now in its sixth year, the Brussels
Farmers’ Market brings locally-grown fruits and vegetables and baked goods to
downtown Brussels.
The market over its
short history has attracted top producers from the surrounding community. Whether it’s vendors selling fruits and vegetables or crafts or youth groups
providing lunch, the booths have always been full at the market.
The market historically
opens on the Victoria Day weekend (May 19 this year) and runs until September
1. It runs on Fridays from 2-6 p.m. in the lot on the east side of Turnberry
Street, across from the Brussels Legion and the post office.
In recent years, the
market has expanded to include much more than a farmers’ market, featuring
concerts, horse-drawn wagon rides, bike rodeos and even a vintage car show.
The farmers’ market
publishes its weekly attractions in its local newspaper, The Citizen, as well
as on its Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/Brusselsfarmersmarket/
