Audrey Joan (née Hackwell) McLlwain
Audrey Joan (née Hackwell) McLlwain of Seaforth, passed away peacefully at Exeter Villa on March, 10, 2019. Born in Seaforth on March 2, 1940, Audrey was in her 80th year.
Audrey was the beloved wife and best friend of John “Jack” McLlwain for 59 years and the loving mom of Mark McLlwain and his wife Kathy, Exeter and David McLlwain, Toronto and Grand Bend. She was the cherished grandma of Carter, Jackson and Nathan, the dear sister of June Smith (Ed), Reid Hackwell (Diane), all of London; Dave Hackwell, Florida and sister-in-law of Helen Ahrens, Mitchell; Marian Pullman, Ken McLlwain (Lois), all of Seaforth and Jim McLlwain (Nancy Steinbach), Mitchell.
Audrey was predeceased by her parents Wesley and Edna (née Reid) Hackwell, sister-in-law Torey Hackwell, and brothers-in-law Larry McLlwain and Ivan Ahrens.
Audrey was a faithful member of Northside United Church in Seaforth. She loved music very much and was the Director of the Northside Junior Choir for 42 years.
Visitation was held at McGlynn Family Funeral Home, Seaforth on Wednesday, March 13. Visitation will continue at Northside United Church, Seaforth, on Thursday, March 14 from 10 a.m. until the time of Audrey’s funeral service to celebrate her life at 11 a.m. A reception will immediately follow at the Seaforth and District Community Centre and interment will take place in Maitlandbank Cemetery, later in the spring.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to Northside United Church, Alzheimer Society of Huron County or the Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
