Albert Archer Wasson

Albert Archer Wasson passed away peacefully on Feb. 22 at Seaforth Manor in his 86th year.

 

The loving husband of Nancy (Pawitch) née Campbell for 33 years, Albert was the proud dad of Valerie and Paul Kramberger and Shelley and Lee Dorssers and the stepdad of Mike Pawitch and Mark and Crystal Pawitch.

 

He was the grandpa and “Papa” of Cole and Amy Dorssers, Caitlin and Nick Schultz, Ethan and Larissa Dorssers, Keyonia and Dan Bureau, Keldon, Ameera and Nyla Pawitch, Brody and Bryce Pawitch and the great-grandpa of seven great-grandchildren.
Albert was the brother of Barbara and Terry Richmond, and Clara Blake, and the brother-in-law of Frances and Steve Bearss, and Diana Campbell.

 

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Margaret (Storey) Wasson, sister Marjorie Wasson, and brothers-in-law Robert “Benny” Blake, Bill Campbell, Dwight and Joan Campbell.

 

Albert was an honest, caring, hard-working family man who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

 

Albert was very involved with the Blyth United Church. He sang in the choir and was superintendent of the Sunday School. He was well-respected as a town councillor and Reeve of Blyth for many years.   

 

Albert wore many hats in his career. He ran road construction crews, operated any piece of equipment on the job site and drove semi-trucks. We will miss his warm smile.

 

Cremation has taken place.

 

Friends and family are invited to Blyth United Church on Saturday, March 1 for visitation from 10-11 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.

 

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Blyth United Church would be appreciated.
